If you were going about your workout program and everything was moving along perfectly and then all of a sudden you were hit with an injury, there's going to be no question that you are going to be extremely frustrated.

Determine What You Can And Can't Do

The very first thing that you should do is assess just how detrimental the injury is to your workouts. Perhaps it's just a minor injury and you can still do many of the exercises that you normally would.

For example, if it's your knee or ankle that's hurting, this doesn't have to stop you from getting upper body workouts in, so shift your focus move over to these muscle groups and work on bringing them up while you recover.

If you can perform some exercise throughout the recovery process, this is going to help you handle the fact that you're injured a lot better from a psychological standpoint.

If you come to the conclusion that the injury is pretty much going to take you out of your workouts entirely, then you're going to want to instead take the time off to focus on increasing your knowledge. Read a few new fitness books or research up on nutritional protocols so you can make sure your diet is on the mark and correct.

Use this time to focus on something else that will help you make progress and you'll find that you're still getting the feeling that you're doing something good for your health and body and thus not be nearly as frustrated while you're sidelined.

Do Proper Rehab Exercises

Finally, the last thing that you must do as you battle back from an injury is make certain that you are doing proper rehab exercises. If the injury is quite severe, make sure you consult with a physiotherapist or a specialist who can help treat you.

Some people just figure they will get better on their own, but really try and seek out help if you need it. If you let your ego stop you from getting this help that you need, you may just be out a lot longer than you anticipated.
