Diet Menu Planner for Weight Loss Success

Nov 1st, 2011 Carly Cox

I don't know about you but one of the most frustrating and tedious tasks for me, on any diet plan, is figuring out what to eat and when. Every dieter needs his or her own diet menu planner. The ideal one for me would be named Chef Louise and she would plan and prepare all my meals. Sadly, Chef Louise is not in the budget. I must plan my diet menu all on my own.

Some diet programs make meal planning easy by offering prepared entrees, ala Nutri-System or Jenny Craig. This works great because you don't have to worry about fitting leftovers into your diet menu. Prepared Meals Diets are increasing in popularity. For many busy people, it just makes sense to have exactly the foods on hand without the worry of shopping and cooking. Even work at home moms and dads may prefer this option because it can be very hard to manage portion control when dishing up a dinner from the family menu. If this isn't what you want, or doesn't fit your budget you need to set up your own diet menu planner.

Creating a personal diet menu planner is not as hard as it may seem. There are plenty of free diet menu planners on line and with every structured diet program. Diet Bites.com provides 2 free diet menu planners each featuring 10 daily menus and good solid dieting advice. This is a completely free program, based on a diet of 1350 calories. If you need more calories, you can adapt the menu. You really shouldn't need less if you are incorporating any exercise at all. Seriously, any exercise at all even just to walk around your house a couple of times, get up from your chair every now and then, it doesn't take much.

If you're a Dr. Oz fan, head on over to RealAge.com and check out their "You: on a Diet," section. This site has a very engaging and easy to use interface. Their Diet Menu Planner is customizable with menu choices, recipes and even a shopping list. Talk about user friendly! Just be aware that the recipes are for more than one serving so be prepared to either feed the family or freeze for later reuse. Don't eat it all just because you hate leftovers!

A diet menu planner, free, cheap or expensive, glossy or bare, doesn't change the reality of what it takes to lose weight. That is perhaps the hardest diet pill for us dieters to swallow. Weight loss doesn't come without a personal change, and a commitment to that change from us. You can plan the menu from here to doomsday but if we eat the whole enchilada and don't save any for the next meal, or the rest of the family, we are not going to lose weight.
